Katie Davern serves as Deputy Communications Director for the Religious Freedom Institute.

Prior to joining RFI, she worked for several years on Capitol Hill, including as speechwriter for Senator Mike Lee (R-Utah). Her other roles included correspondence coordinator for Sen. Lee, and staff assistant for former Rep. John Ratcliffe (R-TX). She also interned for Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) on his communications team and in the development office at the Heritage Foundation. Davern holds a B.A. in History from the University of Dallas, where she graduated cum laude and worked as a staff writer for The University News.
