RFI supported and collaborated on an immersive exhibit hosted at the United States Institute of Peace titled, “Nobody’s Listening,” commemorating the Yazidi genocide initiated by ISIS in 2014 in northern Iraq. Using photography, art, and virtual reality technology, the exhibit explores the consequences of the genocidal campaign by ISIS and its devastating effect on persecuted communities and their cultural heritage, giving the viewer a “firsthand” understanding of their experience.
Jeremy Barker, Director of RFI’s Middle East Action Team, and Paul Marshall, Director of RFI’s South and Southeast Asia Action Team, have been supporters and collaborators of the project since its early inception.
This week, several RFI staff and interns joined a private tour and discussion of the exhibit from the curator.
