RFI President Eric Patterson appeared yesterday on Faith Nation of CBN News to comment on the newly released State Department Report on International Religious Freedom. Patterson emphasized that the United States should take concrete action in the wake of this report, including economic and diplomatic sanctions against countries that fail to protect religious freedom within their borders. He emphasized that the ongoing persecution of Christians in Nigeria must be a key focus. More than 4,000 Nigerian Christians have been killed per year in terrorist violence during the last three years, Patterson remarked, and the United States has done very little in response.
