Will Trump Lead Again in Global Religious Freedom?

Writing this week for The Washington Times, RFI President David Trimble and RFI President Emeritus Tom Farr make the case for the importance of promptly nominating and confirming an Ambassador at Large for International Religious Freedom; the moral, legal, and strategic necessity of restoring this role to its proper level of authority; and the dire conditions of persecution the next Ambassador will have to confront.

“Today, America’s international religious freedom policy is at a pivotal moment,” Trimble and Farr write. They continue:

We are 16 months into the second Trump administration, and the position of international religious freedom ambassador-at-large remains unfilled. Given the unprecedented levels of violent religious persecution, religion-based terrorism, and resulting threats to American interests, that the seat is empty is stunning.
