In response to President Trump’s announcement that CIA Director Mike Pompeo will replace Rex Tillerson as Secretary of State, Christianity Today considers what effect the change might have on the Trump administration’s promotion of religious freedom as an integral component of U.S. foreign policy.
In the article, Religious Freedom Institute President Tom Farr stresses our hope that as the new secretary Pompeo will embrace “a robust IRF [international religious freedom] policy that is part of U.S. national security strategy” and build a strong relationship with religious freedom Ambassador Sam Brownback and the State Department’s Office of International Religious Freedom.
